from the start, since English FA got Sven, it has proven that English Managers are dead and buried. Look at the tables, and out of top 4, which are English?
From my pt of view, there is too much foreign imports, Gooners will struggle to come up with half a team if asked to field English players, and somehow people think it is good for English football. what's the logics??
Now, another issue, do you think local soccer teams benefits from foreign coaches? players? I know all rockets on Fandi to be one great coach from SGP, but can he?? swim in the big sea??

Why not?
Some brazilian flair might do the England side some good, considering they have the likes of Jermaine Jenas, Wayne Rooney and Joe Cole.
Too many long ball over-the-top strategies....boring boring England.

Past England manager like Sir Bobby Robson has managed both local and overseas club which in turn provided invaluble tactical sense to the Ntl team.
Other English club managers like McClaren, Sam Alladayce and Alan Curbishley deserves some respect in some sense but to manage a Ntl team and compete against other Nations... a manager with wealth of International experience is invaluable. Proven results also may be a issue.
If Sir Alex Ferguson is English... I say he'll get the nod. But the English nominees still has some points to prove in archieving club success.

After Boro's 2nd Comeback today...McCLaren looks like the one now

actually yrs ago mcclaren would have gotten the man utd job, but the board didn't think he was experienced or proven enough, so he left to join Boro. I think he's a manager of the highest calibre... at least his potential is there. but unfortunately he hasn't got the kind of money to spend like the way the tops clubs do. I still feel he's the man for England. but I feel many ppl are not willing to take the chance yet.
