They charge $10-15,i would not be that particular about it,cos that is usual biz practice.But if they resort to underhanded method like in this case jamming up RTM channel to force more people to pay,then it is pretty despicable already.If people wanted to subscribe,they would have paid for it already,doing such jamming up of signal stuff is going to do them any good?It just create bad karma that will affect their other businesses.People may just not think that well of starhub and may comtemplate canceling their maxonline,telco services and switch to rival providers that are there.
So starhub gain in the short run by gaining some additional profit on one small part of its biz but lose in the long run by people pissed off with their despicable biz practices and lose on its overall biz?Tell me is that not short sightedness in the biz plans? -

I was too focused on the fact that they are the only local distributor of WC airing here.

well if i remember correctly,i only know that recently singtel reduced their price plans across the board for new subscribers,not sure thou if it will be better but i am using maxonline and the service is getting worst.

But well even if the jamming up is really done,people can always do online streaming to watch RTM 1 over the internet,just make an account and you are ready to go.

Never mind, this is the outcome of having a monopolised cable TV market, the player can at his wish to decide the channels to be 'jammed' for 'commerical' basis -

It is simply shameless that the cable company can jam up the RTM TV1 signal.
Now, I am really pissed off and they have stoop so low.
Even with sponsorship money, are they so desperate ???
