unless you are a supporter of clubs like nottingham forest and is still supporting them (or supporters of poor and non-achieving clubs) dont go around calling people glory hunters.

I'm a Spurs fan since 1994/1995 season , the era of Klinsmann , Dumitrescu , Popescu and Sheringham and has been one ever since. Spurs finished in top 10 only twice for the following seasons and just won one Carling Cup and been through various managers such as Gerry Francis , Christian Gross , Glenn Hoddle etc. Not so much of a glory hunter I hope?
And I was a Sweden fan since 1994 world cup and Czech fan since 1996 , both teams did not exactly performed wonders for the previous tournaments either.. They are fair weathered fans out there definitely but they are die hard ones as well. -
What's is exactly the threadster definition of Glory Hunter ?
A Non-Glory Hunter is defined as loving a club thick and thin , from the beginning of the day u started to like them , and love them , whether or not they are a championship team or relegation team , and never turn back since . Not a second team can make them turn their head around .
Glory hunter ? Love MU when MU is King , love Arsenal when Gunner is King , love Chelsea when Chelsea is King , not a consistent one-club fan . That is Glory Hunter .

Someday if Sunderland comes back to EPL, and become the champion.
People may like them because of their hard work or passion towards the game. Even if they are relagated, they are still there for the team.
But then some will support them because of their success, and when they are being relegated again, all this so call supporters will disappear. This type are call glory hunters.

How can I be called a Glory Huner if I supported Liverpool from 1997?
And Arsenal supporters aren't really considered Glory Hunters, They have been from the 1980s to current time underdogs to win the league.. I wouldn't talk about the Manu 1993 virus though
And I still support Leeds even though they are in the championship and smith went to manu
And there are GHs who stick with their clubs, Must see how far they know about their club history because the more they know about the history, The more they will fall in love with the club. -

For those who supported one club , stick thick and thin with the club , proud of the club , you need not worry about what others said , cos you are doing the right thing by sticking with the club whatever cicumstances .
Whatever others said , i'm proud that i'm not a quitter of Liverpool FC since 1982 .

Supporting big clubs has nothing to do with glory hunting. Supporting small clubs doesnt mean you are a true fan either.
Glory hunting is "supporting" whichever club is the flavour of the season and the strongest. e.g from mid 80s till now, a glory hunter would have supported liverpool, manutd and then chelsea. -

i support arsenal not because they were winning
i have watched soccer way long b4 i term myself supporting any club.Back in the old days when eric cantona and group were winning medal,cups,championship year in year out,i did not support them,so what if they were winning,i just do not like manu as the way it is ran is more like buying thophies since they pay really good $$ to bring in the proven best.
Only when Arsene wenger was the manager and with his gift of using ordinary raw talents and developing them to produce result did i started my support for arsenal.It was what i see in that the trophy they win is not brought by big $$ but by development and improvement.On top of that,arsenal also play the attractive kinda attacking football i loved so much,so even when they were losing,they were still deserving of my support.
So supporting a bigger club does not means looking for glory,for me,it was being able to identify with what i believe in myself that make me support this club. -

U say wenger develops talents and build teams. Well, so does ferguson. He built the 90s winning team based on the academy and bought good players to compliment them.
Ferguson inherited a manutd team which was underperforming and was definitely not one of the richest clubs.
He turned it into a club which wins trophies, which results in more money and fame. With the increased revenue, of course you can buy players with bigger names.
Even wenger said that he wanted to buy those big names but he cant, due to financial constraints. -

For wenger,it is really youth development all the way even till now so Manu cannot even be compared to what arsenal did imo -
Ya I agree with you on this, although ferguson did not totally give up youth development. Wes brown ,rossi, fletcher, o'shea are all from the youth setup.
Maybe it's because of the wealth , which makes it less necessary to rely much on the academy or young players.
If arsenal aso develops into a rich club, maybe wenger will also start to buy more big name players. -
well with wenger's talent in spotting raw talent,i believe that day where arsenal need to buy big names to produce result will not be near.Just look at theo walcott,his latest signing from a lower division club,he look just like a very potential replacement for henry if ever the day come for henry to take the path of viera.
