A legend is somebody who is well known, probably world famous. I dont think this guy fits into that category. Hell, I dont even know what club he played for.

he is a legend to fiorentina fans, scored a lot of goals for them, very well known in italy. i think once u scored lots and lots of goals for a club, u're a legend for that club.

Absolutely! Batigol is no doubt a legend. He's all-time top scorer for his country and club.
In his young days he used to be natural goal scorer, set-piece very accurate too. -

He's one of the best goal machines. Better than Crespo. -

Perhaps due to the low coverage of Serie A all the while... he wasn't very well-known in SG. But for those who seen him in action, yes.... he's one of the best predator ard the box. Excellent in freekicks, both with feet and head and he is also someone who stays loyal to his club. Remember his Viola stint? 1991 - 2000 before transferred to AS Roma in the same year.

Nicknamed Batigol, When he was still playing, a younger and better Hernan Crespo was still nothing to Argentina. That was how good he was for them. It was only after he retired that Crespo got his chance.
He is the all-time highest scorer for Argentina's national team, with 56 goals in 78 national team matches
When his club Fiorentina was relegated to Serie B in 1993, Batistuta stayed with the club and helped it return to the top-flight league two years later. A hero in Florence, the Fiorentina fans erected a life-size bronze statue of him in 1996, in recognition of his performances for Fiorentina.
He never won the Italian league with Fiorentina, but when he moved to AS Roma in 2000 in a deal worth 35 million US dollars. he finally won the Serie A championship to crown his career in Italy.
In spite of a knee injury that kept him out for a few matches, he scored 20 goals for A.S. Roma in his first season with the club, and finally realized his dream of winning a major trophy as Roma clinched the Scudetto for the first time since 1983.
Gabriel batistuta retired in 2005. -

Well, besides being a good player, he was also a loyal player to Fiorentina. He could had gone to bigger clubs across Europe but he choose to remain with Fiorentina and when they were relegated to Serie B in 1993, He continued and stayed with them and helped it return to the Serie A again. Not many top caliber player would have done that.

his a loyal footballer of fiorentina.. he could have left many times to better clubs to win medals. but he stuck with them in the end nt winning any.
finally left fiorentina to AS Roma and in the 1st season won the Seria A.
