Ya lor, our Sleague teams can beat Albirex and Sinchi. Another important fact from our claimed worldwide million viewers Sleague.Originally posted by LazerLordz:That's taking that assumption too far.
I said that to prove that they show us at least some respect and not a whipping boy.
Now that's just a plain lie.Originally posted by rojak12:Ya lor, our Sleague teams can beat Albirex and Sinchi. Another important fact from our claimed worldwide million viewers Sleague.
No lah, Sleague is so much better than Malaysia Cup! Because of Sleague, we won 2 Asian Fed Cups. Only Sleague can produce results!Originally posted by LazerLordz:Now that's just a plain lie.
C'mon, Sinchi closed down.
The National Team may be alright, but the S-League is a mess.![]()
I'm amazed by the way you draw your conclusions. Utterly creative.Originally posted by rojak12:No lah, Sleague is so much better than Malaysia Cup! Because of Sleague, we won 2 Asian Fed Cups. Only Sleague can produce results!
Cheers to Sleague!
Correct?
I learn from the best. I really like your postulation. FAS needs people like you to convince the nation.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I'm amazed by the way you draw your conclusions. Utterly creative.
The strength of a national team is not exactly correlated to the strength of the national league. France is a good example.
My original post in Speaker Corner, all I am saying is to bring back the Malaysia Cup. This is the only league format that I think can generate huge interest.Originally posted by LazerLordz:....
I get your point, but what other alternative can you think of? Malaysia Cup is a step backwards, because fan support does not mean your coaching standards is good too.Originally posted by rojak12:My original post in Speaker Corner, all I am saying is to bring back the Malaysia Cup. There is no way in the current Sleague format can have attendance of 50K.
SAF vs Home vs Tampines etc...no way. Even 50 years down the road no way.
Then you implied that if we stayed in Malaysia Cup, our national team will be weaker, meaning, Sleague is better.
Our COE, youth team etc, I am not against it.
I am against the format of Sleague and FAS administration. That's all.

"I don't really care if you are amused by it or not. These are the facts. Regional trophies count more than a bi-nation cup.
Comparative results in international A-list qualifiers like the WC and AC qualifiers count as well.
Don't let misguided passion for the old days blind us to the reality. There is a lot of work that needs to be done today, but we've moved a fair bit since the 70s and 80s.
As I recall, both Japan and China recalled ALL their European based players to play us, as opposed to other opponents. What does that say? "

Well but the North Asia counterparts are able to produce players capable of competing in Europe..with the latest China's Dong who might be recalled back from loan in the next season with Man United.Originally posted by Xtrider:think too much la...they wan to maintain gd bilateral ties so dun wan to malu us ma....
S league is quite messy. The lack of interest here is because of european football on tv. This is not only happening in SG but other asian countries also... Tts y S league got a huge mountain to climb to generate interest and income from gates receipt. With interest then comes more money from TV live matches and better sponsorships. Its vicious cycle..
