well...here's the report:

French subs steal Euro crown

Substitute David Trezeguet scored the golden-goal winner as France stole a 2-1 victory over Italy to add the European Championship to their world crown in Rotterdam tonight. All seemed lost for Roger Lemerre's side as the Italians, deep in injury time, deservedly led 1-0 through Marco Delvecchio's 55th-minute volley. But a last-gasp strike from substitute Sylvain Wiltord took the game into extra-time before striker Trezeguet smashed in Robert Pires' cross to finish the Euro 2000 final.

Italy lost. But I still think Italy played the more beautiful football of both the teams. Trezeguet beat Toldo fair and square, but if I am the ref, I would send Trezeguet off already, what was he thinking when he kicked Toldo in the face!!!!! Sheesh, the goalkeeper already had the ball!!!!
Nevermind, Italy is still the better team, even though the results might lead others to think otherwise. Dino Zoff did a great job, but like Inzaghi said, wonder what he was thinking when he could have consolidated the defence in the dying minutes.
