  Due to a mediocre world cup by the major powers, no sane club is willing to come up with a healthy sum for a single player. To date, the most expensive player purchased is nicholas anelka for 12 mil pounds....and he wasn't even world cup material....

  Liverpool has spent pretty well though the buys could have been cheaper.
  
  I forsee El Hadji Diouf as a star for liverpool. His vision and creative passing will serve michael owen well.
  
  Still I fancy liverpool will end up trophy-less again this coming season.
