Goal 2010? Is it a dream or a goal?

Many friends of mine have told me that goal 2010 will just be another dreams. Though Singapore have talented players like Indra Sadan and Edgmar Gonvales,how can they match the likes of Japan's Nakata or Innamoto, Koreans Ahn Jung Hwan, China's Li Tie etc.Rather I should say goal 2010 belongs to Thailand. I really like watching players like Kiatisuk Zico Senamung.
I have seen many of my friends or outsiders playing soccer and a few of them have better skills than the Singapore players playing in the S league. Such talelented players did not join the S-league as they feel there will not be a future playing in the S league.
If the situation is in England, I think parents will start asking their chilren to train hard as they have better prospect playing soccer.
I don't understand why bowling in Singapore, swimming in Singapore or tennis have done so well to make our country proud but Singapore's soccer has not been up to the required standard. -
The only time Singapore can get into the World cup is the time they host the World Cup. -
Why are you using the word "THEY"? Aren't you a Singaporean? Are you proud of this country? Even how low stardard whether soccer or anything.. you can deny the FACT you are a born & breed Singaporean!!! No matter how much $$$ you spending buying MU or Liverpool jersey, or season ticket for their games flyong wk in wk out to London to support your "own team", you can't escape that FACT!! We're juz 8 yrs way from 2010 World Cup.... So question is, has S'pore Football Team a Champion of ASIA??????
Juz dun understand why the big hoo-ha about WC2010! Let us be the Champ of Asia 1st...b4 talking abt WC2010! Check it out countries like Japan, Korea etc...They were in fact the former Champ of Asia then they focus on World Stage!
Or 1 last question...R we contented with juz Tiger Cup Champ and be happy with it???

Singapore Lions can't even Win SEA games GOLD, SILVER OR BRONZE and to make more worst they were not even in the Semi-Final. Ask the Lions to win against Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam? Then Talk about World Cup 2010?

actually we are still far away from this so called dream but dpn't forget we have 8 years. anything can happen within this period of time. yes, though i agree with the majority that the S-League is a completely waste of time and sometimes not worth watching, we still have to support the singaporean team no matter what. Even in the sea games or any regional or international competitions, we have to give our support to the team, instead of reading the newspapers and think that they will definitely lose. We have the potential to do things. It is treasonous to say that Goal 2010 is nothing more than a delusion. Our great leaders have said it can happen and we, as the ppl of Singapore, will make this Reality.
