I think Cristiano Ronaldo is way over-rated...Sure he has nice driblling skills, with the stepovers and all, but he really is a lousy crosser of the ball...And also, when you do the same old stepovers week in week out, defenders can already anticipate that when approaching him for a tackle....But still, he is just a young lad and will improve soon....By the way my fave player would be Valencia's Vicente...One of the best young talents of the La Liga along with Betis's Joaquin Sanchez.....

Anyway,I also like "hard" and physical players such as Edgar Davids,Roy Keane,Patrick Viera and Christian Vieri.Another type of player I like is the "defensive playmaker"(as opposed to the "offensive playmaker" read Zinedine Zidane,Pavel Nedved etc etc).In this category would be Gaikza Mendieta,Xavi,Josep Guardiola,Fernando Redondo,Edgar Davids,Demetrio Albertini and recently Becks.Their position is defensive midfield but they possess great playmaking skills on top of their defensive qualities.
It's a shame that Mendieta,who I think is the most complete player in the football fraternity,is rotting away in a third rate team somewhere...Only 3 years ago,he had the world at his feet... -
