barefooted is not realli advisable. cause doing long distance, u will definitely get unlimited amount of blisters! plus, it is not gd for ur ankles and knees, the amount of times ur feet strikes the ground, plus ur body weight , see the amt of impact !
so wats the milage that u are clocking now?

Get a goood pair of Jogging shoes if you are really keen about going got long distance running. Start slow and build up your mileage as you go along. Me did the Standard Marathon in Dec 03 with orthotics and New Balance Shoes.

anybody knows any good shoe shops.. shops with staff who can advice you what shoes to get?

i too completed the marathon in dec, jus recovered from injury, did not train in a mth, nearly died .... haha.. completed in with pure determination !
What i find about shoe shops in sg is that the shop assistants can't be bothered to help u with the shoe models, i doubt they even know wat are certain shoes made for. Shops like world of sports in major departmental stores are the worse, the shoes are over priced, and all placed in the wrong section! i dun expect to have any helpful advice from there !
What u can do is to go to www.shoefinder.com , they offer pretty gd reviews about shoes , and the type of models that suit your needs. Then u can go down to queensway to buy them , they are much cheaper there.
Personally, i prefer asics shoes , but they are rather on the high end.. i do agree a gd pair of shoe is impt for running to prevent injuries ....
