What the hell happened to the Singapore soccer team ?????

Each time I hear that the singapore team has a match coming up. I always thought to myself how much they are going to lose this time. I was a supporter during the old times when we were playing in the Msia cup. At least they can score goals and bring pride and joy to singaporeans. Now a days, I hear excuses after excuses when they lost a match. Something is very very wrong with FAS.
Something needs to be done before the team lose even to school teams.
Even with S-league, the standard is far from satisfactory. Sad case.
Talk about 2010 tgt to reach world cup ... Please lah!!
Cannot even be the top team in SE Asia, talking about W-cup.
Can they beat the Thais?, Malaysia ? now I think Vietnam also pose big problem for them, VERY DISAPPOINTED !
Not to mention Japan, Korea and China.....and the Middle Eastern teams. I say show me you are number 1 in SE asia, if not better not think about W-cup. Lost to Pakistan even in the qualifying round, how to go W-cup ????? Relying on foreign players is not the answer.
Our boys have to buck up. I mean what is going on. ????
The S-league is a sheer waste of money, it is just a job for the players, no passion just jobs. Just kick some ball around and get paid, why not !! I know there are some who try but I would say it is just not good enough. They better work harder ??
Bring coach like Douglas moor where he pushed hard for skills and fitness many years back. And all players complainted is tough, what a joke ? but they were better after that. You think the S-league teams any better ? I seriously doubt it. ....

anyway... there's a saying that..... there is not good of bad soldier only good or bad commander... is same in company or FAS.....
they can give alot of excuses.... coach no good lah, player no good lah.. small population lah etc, etc...but
first u say coach no good.. we believe u.. so change lor...
second time u say player no good lah.. so we believe u... so foreign talents lor..
then u say now what excuses u can give??? hmmm.. maybe the management that say all this are the no good one themselves?? haha coz if they are good.. why they choose the wrong coach or foreign talent in the first place??? haha.. think about it...... -

Singapore's state of soccer is on the ever decline. Look at all the talk abt GOAL 2010? haha.. that must be the joke of the year.
The ministers have forgotten that in the mist of promoting soccer at a higher level, they have fail to appeal soccer to the mass. What i mean by this? Every saturday, i used to play soccer at some place. For no apparent reason, a security guard was installed there to prevent us from playing there. Now the place jus lie unsed there every saturday when it could be used for hrs of enjoyment for a gp of pple tt loves soccer
I find it hard to find venues to play a decent game of football, such frustrations have led to many of my frd quiting or givin up the sport. I , too used to go back to my secondary sch to enjoy a game of soccer. But the security caught up with us again. THey install security cameras and called the police to round us up when we play our game there. GOAL 2010 ? My foot !!!!!!!!! Can't they jus realise that we are jus a bunch of harmless pple that want to enjoy sweating out on a saturday/sunday afternoon? haiZzZ
ANother things is the removal of EPL soccer from CH5. I could not believe my eyes when i read the papers that TCS has lost the rights to show the EPL to SCV !!! what nonsenses is this? i do suspect conspircy theory in that. I grew up in the days of admiring ronaldo, hoping 1 day to be like him( jus a stupid dream tt doesn't come true), my bro admired giggs in his heyday, when becks is not ard yet., so on and so for........ but wat abt the next generation? The cost of living in singapore is alreadi quite high, and having to pay an extra 22 dollars a mth to see a decent game of soccer??? not every household can afford that. From e EPL, pple drew their inspirations and interests to play soccer... now they can only watch s-league to inspire them.

I think he meant it as a joke. Since he's made the No.1 soccer fan, he has to come up with something mah.
6 more years to the GOAL2010 and singapore soccer team is begining to lose to more teams... well done, that's sure is a way to achieve this GOAL. Getting more ang mohs in the national team is NOT going to help.
Good players dont want to be a full time soccer player... why.. cos they have families to feed. -
I do agree, he needs to come out with something creative and spectcular to annouce himself into the sporting scene. Admist all the talk abt the importance of sports and CCAs to admissions to courses, singaporeans are still of the paper chase type.
1 of the UNI courses i applied to requires you to fill up a form with your grades only. Nothing asked about your CCA records, testimonials.... what a joke. And they only admit 40 students. Purely judged on acdemic achievements. How to change such a mentality when the sch of such reputation decided to bank on such ways to choose its students? Will pple dare to take up sports or CCAs? since it doesn't seem to help with my admission at all. -

Goal 2010= Singapore soccer team to let in 2010 goals in its entire history and not to qualify for any world cups.

during the early 90s i use to be one of the kallang roar. every wednesday after poly , we go national stadium to support our lions and malaysian states. i went to 2 final during our quest for malaysia. the first one at merdeka stadium which we lost to kedah. but we won the following year at the new stadium. those were the good old days of my generations.
since we stop playing in malaysia cup, nothing to cheer about. stop watching local soccer altogether. they say wana develop local soccer that why parted way with malaysia (many more reason behind) but are we improving after so many years? i think we are moving backwards. as someone mention b4, we cant even beat vietnam nor malaysia these days. sometimes lose to myanmar. pathetic stage!!
2 days ago our so call father of soccer 'Mr Mah" who implement 2010 quit FAS liao. and pass the ruins to Prof Ho. good move mr Mah, now when someone ask u about our 2010 you can say ' please ask Prof Ho'.
i think we can manage FAS better than those Mah or Prof. we have the passion. if we wana do something we have to do it bigtime. if we want foreign talent, dont think so much just issue hundreds of PR to lotsa african country. dont care what neighbouring say about national team not single singaporean. look at France, vieira, zidane also native not from france. what the heck! if we can S-pass to foreign worker, we can issue PR to promote our local soccer to next higher heights!!!!! -
The qualifiers for world cup 2010 is 2009 right? Ppl like MAH BAO TAN shouldnt be appointed as the head of FAS at the first place. i dont understand why the government appoint him in the first place, he know nuts about soccer. We are talking about soccer here and not national development, i felt they should have appointed someone who knows about soccer and has a passion for it.

impt if our whole team is made of PR from other country. why think so much? nowaday our govt trying change the mindset of singaporean to accept PR talent from foreign country as a way of surviving here in singapore. nowadays lotsa indian working in american IT firm but ppl still associate these company as american company.
like the business trends these days, if our local business is to remain competitive we need to outsource. talent also can be outsource. if our national team player(local) cannot excel, what the heck, go all out foreign talent hunting for potential football player. i think even second rated player from nigeria/ ivory coast, ghana would be interested to get PR here can sure at least give the middle east country a hard fight game.
im open whether our national team all PR or not. just dont wana our neighbour laff our boosting 2010 goals as day dreaming.
like most singaporean attitude,if we wana do it, we can do it.
