Brazilian football superstar Socrates is to make a comeback at the age of 50 - for non-league Garforth Town.
The midfield maestro captained his country in two World Cups but retired 14 years ago, reports the Sun.
But he has joined Garforth as player-coach and will make his debut against rivals Tadcaster Albion next month.
Bosses at the Northern Counties East League club expect their 3,000-capacity ground will be full for the match.
Socrates has agreed an initial month-long deal with the club, based in a former pit village near Leeds.
He was signed by owner and manager Simon Clifford who has built up many contacts in Brazil through his chain of soccer schools.
Simon, 33, said: "It is a fantastic coup. Our fans will be pinching themselves when they see Socrates running out."
Garforth have already signed former Manchester United ace Lee Sharpe.
