Singapore plans $1.73b Info-Tech Investments this financial year
The Singapore government says it plans to spend $1.73 billion on information technology projects in the current fiscal year ending March 31, 2010.
The Infocomm Development Authority says nearly 400 projects will be put up for tender by the government during the year.
Forty per cent of these tenders will be worth more than $500,000 each.
They include a "BorderWatch System" by the Home Affairs Ministry, and the Education Ministry's plan to build a standard infocomm environment for all schools.
The annual briefing provides infocomm businesses with an early indication of government procurement plans, which allows them to better respond to government tenders.
Last financial year, the government awarded a total of $1.6 billion worth of infocomm projects.
