A general practitioner will serve a six-month suspension starting June 1st, for falsely claiming to be a specialist of plastic and cosmetic surgery.
This is the first time a doctor has been convicted on such charges.
Dr Zubin Firdos Medora had been practising at two locations - Medora Centre for Aesthetic Medicine at Camden Medical Centre and Plastic Surgery and Hair Clinic at Delfi Orchard.
In February this year, the disciplinary committee of the Singapore Medical Council or SMC conducted an inquiry.
It found that while Dr Medora was registered as a medical practitioner with the SMC, he had not obtained any speciality training or qualifications and is not accredited by the Specialists Accreditation Board.
Apart from his claim to be a specialist of plastic and cosmetic surgery, Dr Medora was also convicted of a second charge of publishing misleading statements on his clinics' websites.
The SMC says many of the statements, including claims on his experience, training and qualifications, were unsubstantiated.
The committee ordered that Dr Medora be censured and suspended for six months.
His appeal to the Court of Three Judges was dismissed earlier this month.
