The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority or ICA has made its largest arrest for the year.
It nabbed 45 immigration offenders, comprising Indian nationals and Bangladeshis, in an early-morning raid late last month.
They were found underneath Whampoa flyover and were fast asleep when enforcement officers swooped down on them.
ICA also mounted another raid earlier today at Aljunied flyover and arrested another 13 immigration offenders - all Indian nationals.
The Authority says, all 58 suspects are men, aged between 21 and 56 years old.
Preliminary investigations show that they were mainly working as old job labourers, cleaners and construction workers - earning between $7 and $40 a day.
In convicted, illegal immigrants can be jailed up to six months and receive at least three strokes of the cane.
