Police arrested a 30-year-old man yesterday believed to be responsible for several cheating cases committed at Changi Airport and other locations islandwide.
In these cases, the suspect would pose as an officer from a government agency and claim to be in possession of items seized by his agency for sale at a discounted rate.
When the victims expressed interest, the suspect would deceive them into handing over cash for the intended purchase which he never made good.
The suspect was arrested yesterday evening at Balestier Road.
He’ll be charged in Court tomorrow for Cheating.
The offence carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.
