Chinese woman found dead in room

A male Chinese national was arrested in connection with a murder case at Queen's Close this morning.
A Chinese woman was found dead in her bedroom at Blk 23B Queen's Close at 10.40am.
Queen's Close is a quiet estate in Queensway, where most of its residents are elderly folks.
But residents say that in the last two years, more flats have been rented out to foreigners.
It's at a unit on the 9th floor where a Chinese national was believed to have been murdered.
Police spokesperson Yvonne Edwin with more details.
"The body of a 41-year-old female Chinese was found in the unit. She was pronounced dead at 11.10am. A 46-year-old Chinese man has been arrested and is currently assisting the police in investigations."
Residents I spoke to said they did not hear any commotion, as most had their doors closed.
Many also said they keep to themselves and do not interact much with other residents.
The victim, who has one son, is understood to be the landlady of the unit.
She was found dead, lying face up in the bedroom.
The suspect is believed to be the victim's ex-husband, who arrived in Singapore a few months ago.
It's not clear how the victim was killed, although blood trails were found on the ground floor and the 9th floor.
Police would not say if a murder weapon was found.
But the owner of a minimart on the ground floor, who only wanted to be known as Mr Wong, said he saw the police taking away a knife.
He also said that he now closes his shop early as there have been a few crimes in the area.
"A few months ago there was a robbery. A taxi parked outside was robbed and the driver gave chase. This area used to be very quiet and peaceful."
