Expect to pay a little bit more for your electricity in the next three months.
SP Services says that’s because the electricity tariff for households will go up by 1.25 cents a kilowatt-hour to 19.28 cents.
SP Services says the average household will see its bill go up by 7.15 per cent.
It says the tariff increase in the coming quarter is due largely to higher fuel oil prices.
The average fuel oil price over the last three months has increased 26 per cent.
But the tariff is not going up by that much due to productivity improvements and cost reductions by SP Services.
The tariff adjustments have been approved by the industry regulator, the Energy Market Authority.
