EZ-Link introduces season pass for public transport users
Frequent users of public transport may want to grab hold of the new EZ-Link season pass.
The pass which went on sale today allows them unlimited bus and train rides at a fixed price.
The price ranges from $45 a week for 4 train rides and unlimited bus travel daily to $190 monthly for unlimited bus and train trips.
Until 31st October however, EZ-Link is offering a promotional discount on the Basic Season Pass.
The EZ-Link Season Pass is an extension of the new-generation Ez-link card which is CEPAS compliant that went on sale in December.
Like any other regular adult Ez-link card, the Season Pass can be used for other micro payments.
EZ-Link has also tied up with an insurer to provide insurance coverage on the first time loss or theft of the Season Pass.

can save how much if u do the calculations...?
i'll depend on the transfer rebates and just giro-link my ezlink card thank you very much!
$190 wao.... i only use $90 per month , they expect us to pay more to get unlimited..kao
The tertiary bus stamp is only $58 per month, and that's for 18-24 yr olds.
$190 kum lan!, even if include MRT rides NO ONE would spend over $7 every day including Sat & Sun for a weekly transport expenditure of $45 per week.
Let's calculate, a normal worker will at most traverse 1 MRT ride + 2 bus rides on going to work + the same thing coming back. That comes up to about $1.80+$1.20+$0.80 (taking note that there is also rebates from MRT to bus, and bus to bus) = $3.80 x 2 = $7.60
For 5 days work, the person would spend $38, this poor chap will have to think of ways to spend more than $7 dollars on transport on Sat & Sun!
If this poor chap has to work for 6 days a week (poor guy) & some small travel on Sun, then, he may only luckily spend $45.60 + small travel like $1 x 2 = $2 on Sun = $47.60. That makes him save $2.60 ??!! per week
However, for Almost 90% of workers, they daily transport is more like $1.60+$1.20 = $2.80 x 2 = $5.60
So if the person works on 5 days = $5.60 x 5 = $28. This poor chap will have to think of ways to spend more than $17!!! on Sat & Sun.
This season pass is either for very specific group of people only, the tranport companies are not sincere in their offer. It they really sincere, they would set it at $30-$35 per week or $140 per month.
Take note that even the SMRT bus member stamp is more valuable than this offer.
Also, $45 for 1 week, but $190 for 1 month???!!! It should be $45x4=$180 for 1 month bah....... seriously nobody will gian the unlimited MRT travels loh....fake promotion.
double post
aaa there we go =)
might aswell buy car right?
china car. add another $50 can liao
From the replies, it's like not very worth it... ![]()
a classic case of stupid people with stupid products. What are they trying to achieve? To encourage more people to use PT with such an expensive monthly pass?
This monthly pass is relatively very expensive by world wide standards relative to people's earning. Let compare to monthly pass of Munich for the same distance is less than 100 euros. Here SG wants to charge $170. KL with its underdevelop public transport only charges RM 135 for their monthly pass.
If you want more captive riders, the montly fare should be about $100 that should help to lower road congestion. I wonder who will take up this pass most make sure he uses more than $170 per month. From a personal point of view its an expensive bundling. Why do they price the basic plan so close to enchance? where is the differentiation?
its a big failure...
/facepalm...
i hope the aunties and uncles wont be conned into this fake promo. ![]()
for what sial
student buy one month concession for bus only 27.50.
190 ?!?!
rather go buy chery QQ ![]()
totally agree that this entire gimmick of a season pass is a failure. it is already known that owning an ordinary motor cycle is much more worth it than taking PT. they even have a go green campaign to encourage the use of PT but they are not helping us at all. maybe the UN should have a look at this scam that is used to commit daylight robbery.... if there is really anyone who uses $190 and above for transport then this is really great for u... but u are a minority for sure or maybe even an object of the govenrment's imagination
ahahahahahahahaha
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
The bloody UN?? to look into these things??
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
wtf??
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ![]()

You want the UN to do.... what?
Set up a UNEZAFS (United Nations Ez-link Affordability Force for Singapore) peacekeeping task force to ensure affordability of ezlink?
Nuts. ![]()
maybe the bus freaks will buy it ![]()
