A 41-year old Indian national was found dead in the Singapore River in the wee hours of this morning.
Police say, they received a call about a man falling into the water near Eu Tong Sen Street at around 12.45am.
Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force conducted a search of the river.
The body was recovered near the Swissotel Merchant Court Hotel about two hours later.
It was found at a depth of about five metres, some four metres away from the river bank.
The man was pronounced dead at 2.42am.
Police have classified the case as an unnatural death.
