SINGAPORE: Two thousand more early childhood educators are needed to meet the growing needs of the industry in Singapore.
This is according to the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) which
launched its SEED Institute, an expansion of its early childhood
education training academy.
Speaking at the opening of the institute on Monday, labour chief
Lim Swee Say noted that although the industry has made progress in
terms of pushing up the salaries of educators, there is room for
improvement.
The SEED Institute will offer more resources and upgrading opportunities for pre-school teachers.
There are also plans to develop Singapore-based research in early childhood education.
The NTUC hopes to attract women returning to the workforce,
professionals seeking a change in career, as well as fresh graduates.

NTUC want this want that, but not willing to entice with better pay and benefits.
ITs the deja vu for nurses..talk about lack of health care providers, but I dun see them doing anything about thier pay
they need 2000 teachers but they only accept females saying shit like they don't accept males because they can't bath the children..
So what u expect
bathe children? looking for nannies or educators?
