I expect him to speak good Japanese also.

Singapore is in South East Asia, it is nowhere near China. Vietnam, Laos are closer to China, and they are not being Sino-nised. It is chauvinism that moves Singapore towards adopting Mandarin. This is in total disregard for the Malay Archipelago. Under the call to maintain social harmony, some out-of-bound markers were set in political/social discussions. This gave the government the opportunity to advance their inherent agenda, which is blatantly obvious, but can't be discussed.
We have suspected the gradual conversion of Singapore into a Chinese state some time ago. This was vehemently denied of course. Now we know that it was intended all along that the process be evolvd to what was desired.
The unintended consequences will be that Singapore will be sieged.
Are the USA and PRC intended to be our big brothers?
We should think deeper, rather than just bellyache and scrape the surface.
An interesting comment Mancha.I am going to pity the minority because unlike English or Malay,I don't think patois Mandarin would be acceptable in futuristic Singapore.
first english
then mandrain
now both
next time malay
very busy, confusing and tiring
don't know must learn which one first

I don't think he is, and if he would then I guess people wld go round the streets protesting

people wish to. It may not be for the cause which you were referring to, but yes.
The only reason why it isnt happening is due to the restraints in freedom of speech, and esp the recently implemented POA. Gather of >1 = can be deemed as an illegal assembly.
Now. reflect.

They already did that in the past already. You are naive about PAP.

It is due to PAP. They caused it.

It is the family's fault if nobody wants to speak or understand their own mother tongue just the same for members who speak the same language but still cant communicate within the family.

Normally i wont interfere with what the government does, unless the policies are not agreeable.

PAP f*****g propaganda also plays a role. Cannot excuse the PAP f*****g role.
They play the main role.

You seem to be naive about politics and PAP. I see your posts, it looks to me like you know nothing whatsoever about game of politics.

i admit that, what about you? i mean if you knew the game well why not u do it?
Originally posted by One Harmonius Blend:i admit that, what about you?
Your knowledge of PAP, old man lee, history, politics in general is weak, that is why you are positive towards PAP. PAP's goal is to dumb down people so as to easily control them. Depoliticse them, feed them propaganda to brainwash them.
I can help you to improve your knowledge so you can guard against PAP propaganda.
