i think singapore IR should hired those people with the handskill certificate. because some of my friend study the casino management course which include the handskills module which cost $100 but when he went for interview the interviewer say " i don't care whether you have and cert or not you still have to go for their training." but never mind my friend was hired in the end but my another classmate his sister don't even know how to shuffle the cards, cut the chips, don't the rule of the game, the IR also hired her. So what for those ppl study and practice the skill so hard at hm? and waste our parent $$$ ?
Life is never fair

Ask GOD why life is so unfair.
You should make a research first before you decide to study the course.
I wanted to study the course too but feel that its not necessary espicially if I study already than the casino don't want to employ me than I will have wasted my time and money to study.
And I was right

don't worry lah...if the dealer lost too much money on the table each night i am sure he/she will be transferred to being a waiter.....You should check out what they have to do to be a card dealer in Vegas.
AT the end of the day i can tell you 50% of the card dealers will be Foreigners from Macau and Genting casino.
Like it or not, Singapore's IR casinos would want their dealers to have top notch skills.
Singaporeans dealers and croupiers must meet the high standards found at other casinos around the world. They can't smile apologically, and like rookie taxi drivers, say they are new. Not when money of seasoned gamblers is involved.
And we know Singaporeans, their mentality is why go the full mile, or more when three quarters or less can do. Have cert so what? That is another trait. Have cert, must have job. Never realise that their personality counts first, then their skills. Cert only good for getting interviews.
Most interviewers already 90% selected their candidate in the first 2 or 3 seconds the candidate walks into the interview room. The other 10% is for the candidate to make it or blow it.

Sometimes that's what separates a foreigner and a Singaporean. And the foreigner gets the job but not the Singaporean, though the certs are the same.
A foreigner walks into the interview room with a smile and determination to get the job.
The Singaporean walks into the inverview room, dour faced, thinking how to present the certificates.

Got like that 1 meh.
I know of many singaporeans who walk into the interview room with a smile and use their working experience to get the job
I also know some foreigners go for interview and request for a low salary so he/she can get the job

The foreigner that gets the job in Singapore are usually the ones that show confidence, the foreigner that is sad and negative to not get to come to Singapore. So the foreigners you see here are usually the ones who are successfully in getting a job.
As for Singaporeans, you can see both the successfull and the unsuccessful ones here.
Therefore it looks like this, all foreigners in Singapore have jobs, whereas not all Singaporeans have jobs.
Foreigners (excluding tourist and scamers) and are in Singapore because they have a job.
Singaporeans are in Singapore regardless if they have a job or not.

Of course the foreigners that we see here are the ones who successfully get a job. If they don't have a job they will have to leave singapore.
