The 31-year-old hawker centre in Haig Road is undergoing a 5.5 million
dollar ($5.48m) facelift under the National Environment Agency’s Hawker
Centres Upgrading Programme.
The upgraded hawker centre will have better ventilation and layout as well as toilets.
During the upgrading period, stallholders from the centre may apply to
operate temporarily at available vacant stalls in other non-upgraded
centres.
NEA says some stallholders have been successful in their application for temporary stalls.
Stallholders can look forward to resuming business in the upgraded centre in the second half of next year.
