SINGAPORE: Gas tariffs for households will increase by 2.2 per cent or 0.4 cent per kilowatt hour (kWh) to 18.92 Singapore cents per kWh from February 1, City Gas said yesterday.
The change in tariffs will be in effect until 30 April 2010.
The average increase in the monthly town gas bill for households is 36 Singapore cents.
Gas tariffs are reviewed quarterly and the increase in the coming
quarter is due to an increase in the price of high sulphur fuel oil
over the last three months.
The increase has been approved by the industry regulator, the Energy Market Authority.
