SINGAPORE: To celebrate the Lunar New Year, it is usually customary to feast on "yusheng", a popular dish symbolising prosperity in Chinese culture.
To mark this year's festivities, hotels and restaurants in Singapore have introduced new varieties of the dish.
Some chefs have come up with a Japanese-inspired version of yusheng,
and they expect the variety to sell well, given many Singaporeans' love
for Japanese food.
Another version uses fruits to give the dish a lighter flavour, and
its makers said this variation was created to appeal to the tastebuds
of youths.
