  Lack of hygiene standards as lady wears operation theater outfit outside hospital

  
  

  STOMPer Jerry found it very disturbing that this lady was wearing her operation theater outfit out to Novena Square, even though the words on the outfit clearly stated 'Not to be worn outside OT'.
  
  He told us in an email today (Mar 4):
  
  "This morning at a cafe in Novena Square, I captured this photo of someone wearing an Operation Theater (OT) outfit.
  
  "The words on the outfit said 'Not to be worn outside OT'.

  Hospital has the rules and regulations, if reported this person will be given lecture or penalty.

  The rule works two ways.

  One, that the outfit be confined within a certain area so that it has less chance of being contaminated.

  Two: that the outfit do not carry infection out of the OT to the public area.

  Staff like to phoo phoo the rule as over reacting, but it is better to be safe than to be sorry. Cross contaminatiion is unlikely to happen, but safeguards must be up to ensure that it NEVER happens.
