What happens if a passenger does not give a taxi driver clear instructions? Or when a taxi driver misses a turn repeatedly?
According to a report in citizen journalism website Stomp, a taxi driver (pictured above) started to verbally abuse his passenger when they missed a turn, twice.
The taxi driver even "hit" the passenger, Stomp reported. However it did not clarify on how the passenger was "hit".
The passenger told Stomp he boarded the taxi at Admiralty MRT station.
Along the way, the cabby missed a turn twice and started shouting at the passenger, blaming him for not saying the directions earlier.
The passenger said: ""When I said he should not shout like that since it was his fault for missing the turn two times, he abused me, called me a 'bastard' a few times, jump on me and hit me."
"I took a photo of his cab and his face and called the police, while he ran away."
"The police could not do anything because they said it's a non-seizable offence."
The passenger told Stomp: "Isn't it the duty of the police to trace him and investigate the case, instead of telling me to report to Premier Taxi, the company operating the Silvercabs.?
Moreover, Premier Taxi could not do anything as well. The company has asked the driver to apologise, who subsequently refused, the passenger told Stomp.
