Ex-TV actor Mark Chow fined $6K for molesting woman

Former television actor, Mark Chow Yee Sze has been fined $6,000 for molesting a woman on 10 January 2007.
Chow was found guilty of the offence last month.
He molested the 27-year-old former pub operations manager while she was asleep in her office in the wee hours of the morning.
Chow who's 30, had touched various parts of her body- including her chest, buttocks and left thigh.
For doing this, Chow could have been sentenced to up to two years' jail, fined or caned.
District Judge Sarjit Singh did not give him a custodial sentence.
That's because the judge said, the touch to the chest was fleeting and the others were done over the woman’s clothes.
Chow has to pay part of the fine, $2,000, today, otherwise he could spend up to six weeks behind bars.
During the trial, the court heard, the woman made a police report after viewing a CCTV recording of the incident.
The footage of what Chow did in the office was also shown in court.
Chow's defence was that he was merely trying to wake the woman up.
His lawyer Subhas Anandan had then pleaded for leniency.
He said, Chow had some mental problems as reported by a Changi General Hospital psychiatrist, and was still being treated.
Other than this case, Chow has seven other outstanding charges against him and four of them were for molest.
He allegedly outraged another woman’s modesty in 2006.
It’s believed Chow also committed three acts of criminal intimidation with toy guns at the Institute of Mental Heath on 26 November last year.
The hearing for these cases will be held later this month.-- 938Live

i agree with you 100%. Molester and hit-and-run all small punishment. even those murderer who are rich let off easily.My friend? Small traffic offence but got jailed for a year.

Your friend must be got no money or refuse to employ a lawyer to defend himself that is why..

i always find that paying for sex is the best and safest policy....

the fine should go to victim.
just like fines for motorists who injured or killed people, the govt get richer from the fines while the vitims get nothing................

Mark Chow admits molest
FORMER TV actor and model agency owner Mark Chow Yee Sze molested a young aspiring model who had expressed interest in joining his agency four years ago.
Chow, now 30, had contacted the 24-year-old woman for an interview and to meet at a bar at Gallery Hotel at Nanson Road on Aug 16, 2006.
A district court heard that he told her that he intended to put her in FHM and Maxim, two men's magazines. As such, he wanted to examine her body as a standard protocol. The woman reluctantly agreed after Chow indicated that he did this for all his models to find out if they qualified to pose for the magazines.
While they were inside the unisex toilet, she stripped to her underwear. She refused when he asked her to take off her undergarments. He then extended his left hand into her bra and caressed her breast. Shocked, the woman pushed him away. He then left the toilet.
On Wednesday, Chow pleaded guilty to the molestation as well as two criminal intimidation charges. While on bail for his current offences, he went to the Institute of Mental Health last Nov 26 and threatened the staff there by pointing two pistol-like objects at them.
He also threatened a Certis Cisco officer in a similar way. District Judge Sarjit Singh adjourned sentencing to April 30 to consider the submissions made by Deputy Public Prosecutor Adrian Loo.
Chow, who had four other charges taken into consideration, was recently fined $6,000 for molesting a former pub operations manager in January 2007 after a trial.
