Firstly, the article did not report clearly how did the fight broke out. From first-eye witness, upon the final whistle, Saint rugger was lying on the ground and ACS Leonard Wee came clearly with the intention of provoking as he pointed his finger in front of the Saint rugger and he was heard to have said "You lost!". Practicing self-control, the Saint rugger involved first simply pushed his hand away, and soon things escalated...
really, if leonard didnt point the finger at SA rugger, things would not be so havoc. Honestly, who would still feel calm when you lost a game and thus insulted again? think about it.

With regards to the incident at the bus stop which two ACS boys were assaulted...
according to an eye witness who was at the bus stop when the incident took place. The AC boy was hurling degrading insults at a SA boy and although he ignored it, another AC boy shoved the 1st AC boy into the SA Boy
who practiced and showed self-control. The AC boy then seemingly wanted to start a fight and the SA Boy threw a punch for self defence.
I believe if you were to show the incident to the High Court, we all know who’s in the right and who's in the wrong.
And once again, the full story was not covered in the article. It just goes on to show how the article it's flawed, bias and contained many loopholes.
Overall, I salute and respect Mrs Charles for acknowledging the mistakes on the SA camp, who in the world haven't made mistakes before, just be open and correct it. What about AC, Dr Ong didn't comment and instead, the Sports Secretary commented, and his comments were clearly seen as trying to put ALL blame on SA side. Shouldn't ACS bear some responsibility too? it takes two hands to clap.
Mrs charles is a fair and responsible principal. For years, i've been in saint andrew's, yet she didnt fail to impress the school. Both schools are in the wrong and Mrs Charles step up first and apologized.
dumb post...boys should fight..man probably shouldn't.
boys who don't fight during their teenage years are not considered as real males..
fighting is part and parcel of life as one grows up ![]()

That, I have to agree with.
Serious respect to the SA Principal.
But what more can you expect from a "principal" who runs his school like a privately-owned company?

Hey Sgdevilzz, thanks for the source.
I wasn't aware of the exact details of the bus-stop incident prior to reading your post other than reading what the paper wrote. In that light, yes, I would fully agree that those ACS boys who kept provoking the SA student was asking for it.
ahh ... e male egos at work, interesting isnt it.
Still, its better den scheming lil scuMs jabbing insults from ur back, while pretendin to be ur fren. :)

Colours of Singapore
On the surface level, the Google letters depict the various panoramic places of interests in Singapore. Several of the iconic tourist attractions featured by my illustration encompasses the Merlion, the Singapore Flyer, the Jurong Bird Park, the Esplanade and the Changi Airport. In a more abstract manner, several distinctive values of Singaporeans such as education, punctuality, racial harmony and total defence are also shown respectively by the depiction of the graduation cap, the MRT, the people holding hands together and the 5 jets parading in the air. Thus, I feel that my doodle has expressed the theme of “Our Singapore” effectively.

would anyone of you tolerate an extremely rude comment on your mother?
insult me all you want, but leave my parents out of it.....

ACS (I) ruggers are arrogant scums.

If both ACS and St Andrew are both sincere of "apologize", they should do it with action just like what the other neighbourhood school do. During the morning assembly after singing the national anthem, the discipline master will asked the culprits who involved in the fight to appear in front of the whole school, announced why they are punished and in front of the school and with a long canning strike on their back, this will served as a good warning. Both school can even asked the press to witness this if they want. I mean being an elite school they should lead by example, isn't it ?

the SA boy has already done that..... voluntarily... and he is already being punished.
is ACS prepared to do the same? I think not!
Saint punished
ST ANDREW'S School (SAS) has taken swift action in disciplining a player who floored Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) flanker Leonard Wee with a punch during Monday's Schools National B Division rugby final.
The incident, which happened right after the final whistle, sparked a pitch invasion from players and supporters of both camps.
SAS yesterday temporarily suspended the boy from lessons.
He was also banned from all school rugby activities for six months, disqualified from receiving the school colours, and will not be allowed to represent the school again.
The player also made a public apology in front of the entire school during assembly yesterday morning and will be taken to meet Leonard to reconcile their differences.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Education said that the Schools National rugby convener - St Andrew's - has appointed a disciplinary panel to investigate the incident. Appropriate action will be taken on the recommendations of the committee.

My point? Your comment is unwelcome and unjustified.
Rubbish. If you don't know anything, just don't say anything.
wat is the yellow shirt guy standing down there doing? just standing ard? ![]()
oh my god, this is so wrong! The actual story was the ACSI pointing his finger at SA rugger thus provoking him! i mean, im sure everyone of you would punch him in the face. Nobody can tolerate that.
No sportsmanship at all.
What they know is fight and punch. What else they learn from school?
