always thought undergrad very proud
of themselves
now ended up have to eat humble pipe
and compete with aliens from differet planets
thats v sad case
sad to see my Singapore, my so called home being degenerated into land of aliens due to bastards in government for the sake of greed and profit.

but that has nothing to do with uni here flooded with aliens.
compete with world, so flood uni with aliens?
What kind of rubbish logic is that?

Everyone wants a good tertiary education, if they cannot get it in their home country, why not try in another country? As long as they have good grades and enough finiancial ability, they can get their degree anywhere including Singapore. Meanwhile, most Singaporeans have only average grades despite doing their best.
any ignorant ''stomper'....![]()
his grades most probably can't make it into the local universities...
all these foreigners issues is getting out of hand.Nowadays a trip by a MRT is quite irritating..I dun even recognise if i'm in spore..surrounded by foreigners all round me while standing on the train.Haiz...
aiyah. long given up hope on singapore's future alr.
it is becoming sort of twisted. the dream of every person on earth is to own a nice house, have a decent income, decent job, settle down and form a family eventually, and perhaps, if state of finance allow, own a car.
but nowadays, you see that this is getting further and further away from your hands, with rapidly rising cost of living, along with a steep plunge in quality.
houses are getting smaller and pricier. public transport is getting crowded and pricier too, not mentioning longer waiting time. while wages remain the same.
and the most depressing thing is that local papers such as ST, are reporting that a secondary-educated bricklayer in auustralia can earn A$5k/ month, while our graduates are struggling to hit $3k.
so much for meritocracy.
I could have sworn some PAP MP will come up with this "foreign NTU students provide more vacancies for Singaporean students". ![]()
This is in tune with their statement of "foreigners create jobs for Singaporeans". ![]()
International students pay higher school fees. ![]()

i don't agree with yr viewpoint. this is singapore. NTU and NUS are our local universities funded by taxpayers. their first priority should be to give a good quality tertiary education to our singaporean students and train them so that they are of calibre to compete with the world. sporean students should not be handicapped at the educational level by giving limited places to foreigners.
educational institutions have to ask themselves this question - what is their purpose of existence ? their reason for existence should be to educate. they are local universities so educate the locals first should be their top priority.
and to the general comments that sporean students are inferior to the foreigners, i would say this is a perception. just like govt psycho sporeans into thinking that foreigners are more competent than sporeans which is merely a perception.
do not be biased against our own sporean students. sporeans and students from the developing countries grow up in different environments. it's not fair to compare and generalise. believe in our local students and our own people. if we don't give our own people chance, who will ?
equal opportunities to all mankind

ITE is the next story.
I was quite shocked when I saw PRC students in the local ITEs too.

do qualify your statement giving facts -
"most Singaporeans have only average grades despite doing their best."
otherwise at best it is a sweeping statement based on opinion
