Man sentenced to 36 yrs jail, 24 strokes for raping daughter

SINGAPORE: A 43-year-old odd-job labourer has been sentenced to 36 years' jail and 24 strokes of the cane for raping his biological daughter.
As a result, the girl, who is now 17-years-old, became pregnant with her father's child and delivered the baby in September last year.
The man first raped her when she was 14-years-old in their flat in 2007.
He raped her again on two more occasions in December 2008 and on June 22 last year.
He also sexually abused the girl the following day (June 23).
He originally faced eight charges in all but four of them were taken into consideration.
For each charge of committing rape, he could have been sentenced to 20 years' jail and fined, or caned.

Other than the loss of a human life, an abortion brings much risk to the mother including permanent infertility, especially when she's only 15. However, it would be unfair not to mention the miseries the child will have to face for his/her complicated parentage and potential health problems due to biological defects. It must have been a hard time for her to make the decision of keeping the baby.

'Monster' dad gets 36 years

SHE was six when her father molested her. He was caught and jailed six years and caned 12 strokes.
The odd-job labourer, 43, was released from prison four years later for good behaviour and moved home with his wife and two children including the girl, who was by then nine.
About four years later, the abuse began again, when she was 13. He started molesting her when they were alone, then forced her to perform oral sex on him, and finally started raping her repeatedly.
She was 16 when she became pregnant, and that was when she told her mother and he was caught again. She gave birth last September, and the baby girl was given up for adoption.
Yesterday, Justice Woo Bih Li called him an incorrigible monster and sent him to jail for 36 years - one of the harshest sentences for sex offenders ever.
The man, who cannot be named to protect his daughter's identity, was also ordered to be caned 24 strokes, the maximum allowed under the law.well done judge. I wonder how will his new friends in changi welcome him.

My only regret is that the law does not provide for him to be castrated and tossed into solitary with a horny gay serial rapist.
And the fact that good behaviour leads to an automatic 1/3 remission of sentence. That's 12 years off, by the way.
Save your sympathy for the victim.

Most women suffer emotional and psychological trauma after abortion, and sometimes abortion can render the women physically incapable of having children in future.

No. The child was given up for adoption. So, this is no longer an issue so long as a couple of impotents wished to adopt a baby and never tell the truth will do.

Well, it's the mother's (the gal) decision. But whatever it is, in this case the gal is not in fault in any way. Besides, she's still young and confused, you can't expect her to think so much.
