SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with a power outage that occurred at a sector of the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino in Singapore.
The power outage occurred on 12 May. Police say investigations are ongoing.
When contacted, MBS would only confirm that it had made a police report. It said it would be "inappropriate to comment further as police investigations are ongoing".
Some reports said the blackout lasted for about an hour.
There was a similar incident on 4 May, when the lights went out during a speech by the Chief Justice of New South Wales at the Inter-Pacific Bar Association's (IPBA) conference.

Very expensive to have a backup generator.
Really. ![]()
But joking aside, I think it really is a very bad omen for a project as grand as this.
You always want things to start off on a good note but this is quite bad. ![]()
How can just one man been involved with the power outage? And on the day of the power outage, the other surrounding work sites had to stop their works involving electrical power when the electrical power they used came from their own generator sets? Duh!![]()

Honestly, it depends on the contract specifications. If it was not called for, its not there. And if someone called for it after its not there, its VO, and thats alot of money. Who wants to pay for it? Of course nobody!

Current contract in DLP already. Anything else is a new contract.
We only look good on the outside. If any small probs occurs, then everything goes haywire. Such a huge, important place & it doesn't have even a backup generator. They are damn lucky that it's a sabotage, not a fire outbreak. If hundreds of lives are lost, i don't think they can pass it as an honest mistake.
sounds like they forgot to connect backup or never planned for one.however there should be backup lighting availiable.the card dealers would grab one of those super bright torch lights and place it on table and gambling continues!!!see...cheaper,faster and better!
to hell wiv da aircon.....u wanna play u got to take the heat!
