A SINGAPOREAN man was shot several times outside a pub in Johor Baru early last Saturday morning, but is now in stable condition in hospital.
Mr Tan Kim Chai, who is in his 50s, was shot by a man whom he was quarrelling with at about 2.35am.
Johor police chief, Deputy Commissioner Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff, told Malaysian newspaper The Star that police arrived at the scene near Jalan Abdullah Tahir after being informed by eyewitnesses.
The street, which is a 10-minute drive from the JB checkpoint, is a popular area for nightlife and has many lounges, hostels and 24-hour restaurants.
The suspect is believed to be a Malaysian in his 40s.
Datuk Mohd Mokhtar said both the suspect and the victim have criminal records on both sides of the Causeway.
