SINGAPORE : Singapore is having additional security arrangements at Changi Airport for ministers and delegates arriving for the Shangri-La Dialogue which starts on Friday.
From Thursday till Saturday, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will be deployed alongside the police at the airport and surrounding premises to protect people and property against any terrorist attack.
The government's online Gazette Notice said the defence minister is concerned about any attack during or before the Shangri-La Dialogue.
As such, the SAF is required to be deployed to areas where delegates would be arriving.
One such occasion when SAF soldiers were deployed to supplement police officers at Changi Airport was in the aftermath of the September 11 attack in 2001.
