isn't it strange that the US Govt has refused to hand over the to the US military to stop the oil spill ?
isn't it strange that the US Govt has also refused help from other countries ?
the US Govt has also refused to heed Russia's advice to use a nuke to collapse the seabed and thus closing the oil well even after this technique has been successfully used by the Russians at least 4-5 times.
THERE ARE NOW AT LEAST 3 CONFIRMED CRACKS ON THE SEABED LEAKING OIL with other cracks expected to form soon.
how long will it take before all the oceans of the world will be covered with oil ?
imagine years and years of toxic rain from the oil and the toxic chemicals used to disperse the oil !!!!
people will have to evacuate all along the coastlines and crops will fail due to toxic rain.
In 1903, Austrian banker, writer and occultist Gustav Meyrink(1868-1932) wrote a novella, "Petroleum, Petroleum".
The
novella tells the story of Dr. Jessegrim decides to go into oil.
Mexico was standing on connected caverns filled with petroleum. Jessegrim resolves to blast away the caves. After that, oil flowed from the caverns under Mexico into the ocean and form a barrier surface, which continues to grow, covering the entire Atlantic. The coasts were barren as populations evacuated.
Jessegrim says: "If the oil continues to spill as it does, it will cover all oceans of the world and there will be no more rains ever, as water can not evaporate anymore. At best, it will rain petroleum."
if the above article is real you think the americans are stupid enough not to heed advice.
please. dont talk like you know it better than those experts.
who says that the Govt is always trying to do the right thing ?
if that's the case, things like WTO and NAFTA wouldn't exist !
heck, PRIVATE central banks wouldn't exist !
don't be naive, the Govt is simply a group of people APPEARING to be running the country.
So you suggest we nuke the seabed?
I think so, instead of continue to leaking the oil, why not just nuke it so as to stop the leak and like that save oils such that it can be drilled in future as well. If it now leaked to the sea, then we cannot use them for powering the cars etc.
Oh yes, I hope this would allow every nations to build nukes, including Iran and North Korea.

if it is so easy to find oil it wouldnt be so expensive.
shows you're naive again !
oil is plentiful and it's not limited at all !
the Russians have already long said that oil is produced by the Earth's mantle and it's unlimited !
all those old oilfields that were depleted were eventually refilled after oil companies ''rested'' them for years !
i know this is true becoz people working for decades in the oil industry told me so after i ask them if the Russians were bullshitting or not.
oil is traded on the commodity exchange - the price is determined mainly by the banks that traded oil, THERE'S NO SUPPLY OR DEMAND that's affecting the price at all.
in the 1990s, oil was around USD10 a barrel then it shot up to USD147 a few years ago ! don't tell me demand and inflation shot up by over 14 times ???!!!

arent you trying to tell us you are the one who is naive?
come back to the real world!!!!
So I suppose.. coal is renewable energy too ?Like renewable every few hundred million years ?
xD
Fail
if you people can be open-minded enough, i'll dig out all those articles about unlimited oil.
but it's absolutely true that people in the oil industry have told me that oil depleted oilfields are once again being put back into production !
as for oil prices, think about it lor, USD10 to USD147................it's expensive not becoz oil is rare but becoz it's traded like stocks !
in recent years, there's been HUGE oil deposits found in USA - in colorado, montana and north dakota.
EACH deposit is estimated to be at least as big as Saudi Arabia's oilfields but yet nothing's been done !
WHY? so they can justify high oil prices not becoz oil is rare !
WHY is even USA importing oil ? becoz of the PRIVATE Federal Reserve ! if US dollars are not sent out of USA, there'll be hyper-inflation long ago !
also oil deposits has been found in the Falklands estimated to be far far larger than that of Saudi Arabia's !

What can the US military do? They are not oil cleaner.
Beside BP stands for British Petroleum. IT IS UK matters on US ground.
Why do US government want to help other countries? During the last oil leak, do you see Singapore sending people over to malaysia, indonesia?
Actually the oil are organic matters, so they will eventually degrade overtime. Or it get evaporated into the air. The only problem is,if it is wasteful.
If you nuke the ocean, yes you can collapse the sea bed. But there are several problems.
1. This oil ridge is being sold to BP for use. It is not right for US government to intervene private company's affairs.
2. Wouldn't nuking kill all the sea animals in the surrounding area?
3. The radiated water will then be spread over the sea to other area.

Dude. Whatever you're smoking- You have to tell me where to get some!

1: But that affects the people living there, so the government must step in, at most it is time for the UK to use their nuke arsenal.
2: May not be, as right now, the area's marine life is affected like crazy so whats matters? (Yes, BP uses some agents in it -- which is even more toxic than the oil itself)
3: Nobody ask one to use the hydrogen bomb, maybe they can just use one of the smallest nuclear missile to hit it. (Some strength less than 1kT of TNT should be enough, dont tell me they need the North Koreans to do it -- lol!) The radiation probably be absorbed by the seabed and sink it inside.
The best thing they can do now is to get an additional 1 or 2 rigs as near the leak site as possible, drill into the well and relieve it of its pressure. However the difficulty in that is that the area is over 1km deep, which makes operation so much more complex and time consuming.
Basically, we are in singapore and we shouldn't meddle in such affairs that are happening in a super power country.
Sign #$%........why not worried about our offshore refinery....anything happen Jurong would be GONE....Fire would not Stop. So why worried about Uncle Sam....

I think BP is trying their best to solve the problem. So is the US government.
You are assuming that the bombing can collapase the sea bed, and that is provided that the sea bed is thick enough. If the bombing creates a hole at the thin sea floor instead it would be worse.

In 1970, Russians drilled Kola SG-3, an oil well at a world record depth of 40,230 feet. Since then, Russian oil majors including Yukos drilled more than 310 successful super-deep oil wells.
>>> THERE'S NO ANIMAL OR PLANT LIFE AT THAT DEPTH TO TURN INTO OIL !!!
Russians moved three deep-drilling rigs into North Korea, where will repeat the process in Vietnam by drilling through granite and basalt, without a single trace of 'decaying marine life' so essential for the 'accepted' production of crude oil.
They discovered they were naturally occurring ultra-deep oil wells, leaking vast quantities of oil from the mantle of the earth upwards through fractures into "sedimentary oilfields", located relatively close to the surface.
As oil companies draw oil out of these oil wells, field pressure is reduced and more ultra-deep oil migrate up from the mantle and restock the reservoir from below.
That radically Russian approach to the discovery of oil led to develop huge oil discoveries in regions previously judged unsuitable, according to Western geological exploration theories. The new petroleum theory was used to drill for oil in a region believed to be geologically barren - the Dnieper-Donets Basin.
Russians began drilling in a supposedly barren region of Siberia. There they developed eleven major oil fields and one giant field.
>>>> Dr. J. F. Kenney, a Western geophysicists said :
"to have produced the amount of oil to date that (Saudi Arabia's) Ghawar field has produced would have required a cube of fossilized dinosaur detritus, assuming 100% conversion efficiency, measuring 19 miles deep, wide and high."
In short, an absurdity.
((( HOW COULD SO MUCH ANIMAL AND PLANT LIFE BE PILED TOGETHER LIKE SARDINES 19 MILES DEEP, WIDE AND HIGH ???!!! )))
MORE PROOF OIL IS UNLIMITED !
In reality, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reported that oil is not a fossil fuel. It is continuously being created by a process deep in the Earth.
Dudley Herschbach, a Baird Research Professor of Science and recipient of the 1986 Nobel Prize for chemistry conducted the original experiments to prove how methane is created in the Earth, said that new findings corroborate that the Earth's oil reservoirs refill as they're pumped out. Herschbach said his observations support the view that petroleum may be continually generated.
