A 90—year—old Australian man was arrested and charged with raping four young sisters whom he allegedly lured to his home in Thailand with the promise of sweets and English lessons.
Karl Joseph Kraus was taken into custody Tuesday at his home near the northern city of Chiang Mai. Cops found video footage and 100 photographs of naked children, some posing with the elderly man.
Police are investigating if the sicko is part of a larger network because many of the pictures were sent abroad. According to the Bangkok Post, a maid hired by Kraus said she saw the geezer sending homemade pornographic videos overseas.
One of the girls was 5 years old when the alleged rape took place. The sisters are now 7 to 15 years old.
Parents of the girls observed they no longer wanted to play outside and asked them what was wrong. After their gruesome discovery, they immediately complained to police.
Kraus met the sisters in 2008 after he approached the girls' family in 2008 and offered to teach them English.
"He would lure them into his house with sweets, usually chocolate from abroad or luxury sweets and he would ask them to perform sexual acts with him," Doi Saket police chief Kritapol Yeesakron said. "For the eldest of the four sisters, he recently gave her 4,000 baht instead of sweets." The total is about $120.
According to the Bangkok Post, Kraus—who has lived in Thailand more than a decade—once argued he was a victim of police extortion when he was charged with rape in a previous case.
Kraus' Australian passport says he was born in Berlin. Kraus declined to comment because he doesn't have a lawyer yet.
Neighbors described Kraus as an active senior citizen who still drives his own car. But when cops showed up at his home, he acted frail, walked with a cane and griped about his high blood pressure and diabetes.
Kraus was taken to Chiang Mai hospital. His court date has not been announced. -

yes, is south korea, i read it in the papers recently. there were 2 high profile rape cases in that country. one was a 58 years old man raped an 8 year old girl, rinsed her with detergent in a church's bathroom. that poor girl had permanent internal organs damage but this evil man was sentenced to 12 years jail only. another was a 48 year old man raped a young girl (can't remember how old) at the basement of the church.so, don't think worship places are safe places, these evil people like to prey at these holy places. really disgusting. i wonder how they could do these kind of evil things at a holy place.
