IPOH, Perak: A Singaporean tourist was killed and eight others were injured when the van they were travelling in skidded at Km 248.7 of the North-South Expressway near Ipoh, Perak, on Saturday.
Bernama news agency quoted state traffic police chief Superintendant Wan Abdullah Ishak as saying the victim, 63-year-old Benny Goh, died on the spot after sustaining severe head injuries in the 11.40am incident.
He said three of those injured had been admitted to the Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh, while another four were given outpatient treatment at the Kuala Kangsar Hospital.
Supt Wan Abdullah said the tourists were on their way from Butterworth to Cameron Highlands when the van skidded and rammed into a road divider.
