SINGAPORE : Many couples choose not to register their marriage in the Year of Tiger due to superstition that it's a bad year for marriage.
But exceptions are made for special days such as 20 October 2010, which forms 2010-2010 when written.
The Registry of Marriage (ROM) has received 143 submissions from couples looking to get married on that day, more than double for an average day.
And one company specialising in wedding photography said it has
received twice as many requests for its services on 20 October, compared
to a normal weekday.
Restaurants and hotels also advise couples who want to get married on
specific days to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
