He claimed that his doctor performed additional surgery without his permission.
Mr Li Siu Lun, 53, a self-employed property and stock trader, also accused the doctor of getting a nurse to amend his consent form three months later.
As a result of the operation, he claimed he lost the use of his right hand and fingers.
Mr Li then filed a suit against Dr Looi Kok Poh, a consultant hand surgeon who runs a private clinic, Pacific Hand, Wrist and Microsurgical Centre, at Gleneagles Hospital.
Dr Looi initially entered a defence through his lawyer, Mr Tham Hsu Hsien of Allen & Gledhill, denying Mr Li's allegations. But he has since withdrawn it.
This was after Ms Chew Soo San, the nurse who altered the operation consent form, gave her affidavit, as compelled by a court order.
