A 30-year-old Indonesian man has been charged with extortion.
Amir Adriyansyah is believed to have threatened to post a 39-year-old
woman’s semi-nude pictures on the Internet if she did not hand him
$20,000.
Amir, who will be remanded at the Jurong Police Division, allegedly
committed the offence at Fragrance Hotel at Joo Chiat Road on 28 June.
Because of his alleged threat, it’s believed the woman managed to hand him $12,500.
Amir’s case will be mentioned again next Friday.
If convicted of extortion, he can be jailed up to seven years and caned.
