SINGAPORE : Former president of Netball Singapore, Ivy Singh-Lim, appeared in court on Monday to face charges relating to her farm, Bollywood Veggies.
She is accused of failing to have her
farm in Kranji
inspected, and failing to engage a professional
engineer to conduct
the inspection.
The Building and Construction Authority (BCA)
had first sent a
notice to Mrs Singh-Lim's farm in April 2008.
It informed her of the need to check the
building, but she failed
to do so even with the deadline extended five
times.
Her lawyer has asked for more time as she had
just taken on the
case.
The case has been scheduled for a pre-trial
conference on
Wednesday.
If convicted, Mrs Singh-Lim faces a fine of up
to S$40,000 or a
jail term of up to one year, or both.
