SINGAPORE : The National University of Singapore (NUS) has launched a new online research portal on issues affecting Singapore.
The Singapore Research Nexus is a showcase of past and current research.
Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, was at the launch on Tuesday.
He said the portal, with its strong research evidence base, will be critical for policy development.
It will help policymakers understand social phenomena, anticipate social challenges and review policies.
The portal currently has about 7,000 publications on Singapore.
It plans to include creative works, such as novels and short films.
NUS
said that as Singapore grows in world stature, local research findings
have also wider global implications. It added that the research will
also encourage more collaboration between researchers.
