  Police have arrested a 45-year-old man who is believed to have outraged the modesty of a 9-year-old girl at Bedok North yesterday morning.

  Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is also believed to be involved in several cases of indecent exposure in Bedok North, Bedok Reservoir and Chai Chee.

  The suspect will be charged in Court tomorrow (sat). 
  
  If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to 2 years and will also be liable to caning. 
  
  Police say they’re seeking a court order to remand the suspect for further investigations.

  Alleged molester faces more charges

  AN UNEMPLOYED man, charged a week ago with molesting a nine-year-old girl, was charged on Friday with four more offences.

  Lee Kia Kit, 45, allegedly touched the girl along a footway beside Bedok North Road at about 7am last Thursday.

  One of the fresh charges accuses him of touching the back and buttocks of an 11-year-old girl 10 minutes earlier at the same footway.

  Lee is said to have insulted the modesty of a 21-year-old student by uttering lewd remarks in Mandarin and Hokkien on Feb 16 and twice on Feb 26.

  He was remanded for psychiatric assessment until March 25. If convicted of outrage of modesty, he faces a jail term of up to two years, fine, caning or a combination of the punishments.

  The maximum penalty for insulting modesty is a year's jail and a fine.
