STOMPer p observes that we treat nurses as though they
are maids at our beck and call. The STOMPer is a healthcare professional
and she finds Singaporean patients very unappreciative.
Said p in an email:
"I'm a healthcare professional and I find Singaporean patients very unappreciative.
"They treat the nurses like maids at their beck and call.
"They expect to be attended to as soon as possible without realising that there are other patients in the queue.
"Come on, if you want fast, go to a private instituition.
"It is a fact that government healthcare establishments have long waiting hours because they are so much cheaper.
"They
are unsympathetic towards doctors who are not feeling well, and write
complaint letters that say the attending doctor was cold and unfriendly
instead of trying to understand that the doctor did not smile because
she/he is unwell.
"Long hours, little pay and to top it off, unappreciative patients.
"These people seriously need to do some self-reflection and require re-education."
Rubbish. When I was warded once, I was very nice and friendly to the nurses throughout my stay, and if they busy I tell them just take their time, me can wait. ![]()
