Ex-wife hires debt collectors to get child maintenance fees

A STOMPer was surprise when he found out that his ex-wife had engaged the services of a debt collection agency just to collect a shortfall of $20 in child maintenance fees.
Said the STOMPer:
"My ex-spouse engaged this debt collection agency to collect a mere shortfall of $20 from Feb payment.
"In fact, she has sent these people to visit me twice for this in the past week.
"I wonder how much this is going to cost her and if it's worthwhile and necessary.
"Such request could be conveyed by a phone call and it's really unnecessary for her to engage such people.
"I strongly recommend that divorcing couples remain on talking terms for the sake of their kids so that such scenario can be avoided.
"By the way, I have paid that $20 to get those people off my back." -
