Ridiculous! Grads expected to pay $130 for grad night

STOMPer TGFR thinks it is ridiculous for SMU graduates to be paying $130 for grad night, even if it is going to be held at Marina Bay Sands.
Said the STOMPer in an email:
"SMU grad night 2011 ticket is too expensive!
"Although it is held at Marina Bay Sands, the students should not be made to pay $130 for one seat!
"SMU has always been known to be glamorous and does things the lavish way, but pushing the costs to the students is too much.
"The organisers have noted the students' concerns but it remains to be seen what changes will be made.
"In my opinion, the organisers should have asked for feedback from the current batch of students, on where they would like to hold their grad night dinner, and how much are they most willing to pay.
"With SMU located in town, there should be many choices but they decided to go for the very high range of MBS.
"Grad night should be a memorable and a celebration of the students' life in SMU and it seems a shame if the school is cashing in on this, leaving the students not much of a choice."
