Swiss national accused of paying for sex with minor out on bail
SINGAPORE: A Swiss national who was charged on Wednesday for having paid sex with a minor is now out on bail.
40-year-old Juerg Buergin was held in remand and his lawyer Selva Naidu said his client is now out on S$15,000 bail.
The girl he was accused to have paid for sex is said to be working for an alleged online vice ring.
Buergin's case will be mentioned again on June 18.

2nd man in online vice case allowed to travel overseas
A businessman charged with two counts of commercial sex with a minor was given permission to leave the country for business and an event.
Edward Whistler Goh Ngian Meng, 49, applied through his lawyer Wee Pan Lee to make two trips before his next court date in May.
Counsel said his client wished to travel to Shanghai, China, for business for four days from Sunday and to Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia, from May 4 to 6.
Goh is the founder and CEO of Edward Whistler International Group, which specialises in business consulting and management training.
He was among four men hauled to court on Wednesday for paid sex with a girl who is under 18 years old.
To date, 48 men have been prosecuted for paid sex with a girl under 18, which is punishable with a jail term of up to seven years or fine or with both.
Meanwhile, Swiss national Juerg Buergin, 40, former executive director of operations at UBS Investment Bank in Singapore, was finally freed on bail of $15,000 on Friday afternoon.
Like Goh, he also faces two charges of paid sex with the girl.

3 men charged with paid sex with underage girl back in court
SINGAPORE: Three men who were charged in court on April 16 with having paid sex with an underage girl were back in court on Monday to fix a date for a discovery conference.
Koh Zi Yang, 29, Pyi Kyaw Han, 31, as well as Kelvin Peck Yong Li, 21, will be returning to court on June 11.
They were among the first batch of 44 men charged with having commercial sex with an underage girl.
Koh is believed to have paid S$600 for the girl's sexual services at Strand Hotel at Bencoolen Street in December 2010.
He is represented by Mr Peter Ong.
Peck, whose lawyer is Mr Anand Nalachandran, allegedly paid her S$450 for sex at Hotel 81 at Becoolen Street in October 2010.
Pyi, who will be represented by Mr James Sebastian, faced two charges of paying the girl S$650 on two occasions at Strand Hotel between December 2010 and January 2011.
The Attorney-General's Chambers also tendered amended charges which now reflect the name of the underage girl, which was initially omitted to protect her identity.
If convicted, they could be jailed up to seven years and fined.
