Shino Lin apologises for mistreating puppy

TAIPEI: Taiwan singer Shino Lin Xiao Pei released a statement on Wednesday expressing remorse for mistreating the pub owner's pet dog, when she visited a pub in Taiwan on Sunday, reported Taiwan media. According to Lin, the pub owner's three-month-old puppy became agitated and started barking at her after she tried to play with it. Lin tried to calm the animal down by pressing down on its nose, but the dog became distressed. Fluid accumulated in its lungs and it began to throw up, with traces of blood in its vomit. "Regarding this incident, besides apologizing, I don't know what to say. As a dog lover and a dog owner, I really had no intention of hurting the dog! "When I played with the dog that day, it was very energetic, I used the same method I used to train my own dog to sit, and I pressed down on its nose to make it calm down. I did not cover its mouth and nose and cause it to be unable to breathe." "When I realised that the dog was frightened and had blood in its vomit, I immediately called my vet! Because I could not contact the owner, I brought it to hospital," said Lin, reiterating that she felt sorry for her actions and hoped that the dog would recover soon. However, the dog's owner Li Yu De had since rejected Lin's apology and vowed to pursue the matter if his dog died of health complications resulting from the incident. Li told Taiwan media that Lin had actually downed a few drinks before the incident and hinted that she may have mistreated the dog while she was drunk. He went on to point out that he had tried to call Lin on numerous occasions after the incident, but she did not respond. If Li's account is true, it would be the second time Lin had gotten herself into trouble after having too much to drink. An intoxicated Lin crashed her car into a nurse riding a scooter back in 2007.
