i would suggest they return the money back to the contributors...and rebuild CHC with new transparent management...the legal issue does not rest solely on punishing the defaulters....but also to serve as conscience and public defender ...
all these monies should be returned with the sale of the assets to these innocent people...too much monies involved...
religion itself is never wrong...CHC should be rebuilt with sound foundations....

well...even if one does lots of good works...just one crime or rape...is enough...of course granting charities and public appeals...still have to face the law and iron bars...though there exists mitigating circumstances...

The mafia does a lot of good works too- it's still a mafia. Sometimes you have the good works as a front ....and in so doing hope that your other sidelines or misdoings are either passed off with less attention, or justified because of the good works that are done simultaneously. Another example ...like some pedophiles from developed countries who set up orphanages and charities for children in the less developed countries..to house .cloth , feed and nurture orphans...but what's the ulterior principal motive actually?. -

Very dangerous situation. You have here a whole church of people who have even come out with statements to say they stand by their pastor. Now are we saying these people have become so "warped in thinking" that they can't see right from wrong? That being brain washed to the point that whatever this pastor does cannot be wrong? IF this is not cultist what is? -

I believe you have read or heard from the news Rev. Kong Hee's indictment for mismanagement of church funds.
May I as President of NCCS appeal to you to:
1. Assure your congregation that the authorities is not against the church. The case is against individuals' breach of trust.
2. Encourage your members to pray for Rev. Kong Hee, those involved and their families during this difficult time.
3. It is important that we and our members do not speculate or prejudge before the conclusion of the case.
4. Pray for the leadership (both spiritual and government leadership) for wisdom in times such as this.
Let us stand as one before God and pray for City Harvest Church.

Pastor: 'Its god's will for the rich to be well financially endowed'
And so it became god's will for the pastor to help himself with funds and build his kingdom of heaven - in reality.

Isn't the NCCS an association with the major denominations as members? SO is City Harvest also a major denomination? Sure it is now in the Courts and the church leaders may not want to prejudice the case in any way. BUT to "encourage" their congregation to pray for Kong Hee Fatt Choy and his merry henchmen....I personally don't think that is quite necessary or appropriate as it may send the wrong signals. as if the NCCS supports his deeds too! But then again I ain't a pastor, and of course Christians are suppose to let your enemies slap your other cheeks, even if you have been slapped on one side already. -
It's pretty much the same principle as NKF. Donate and stand a chance to win prizes at the same time! Why not?? In CHC, you tithe and stand a chance to get riches back many folds! Why not??
So these people like Kong Hee, they believe that it is ok to get rich, as long as you do a lot of good at the same time. So I believe they have done a lot of good all these years but then again they think it's justified to prosper as a result too.
Even after he is sentenced, he will still come out with the same beliefs. No big deal. The bungalow and cars still belong to him. His bank account is only $500k poorer after the bailout. Life goes on.

I think the NCC message is correct and in accordance with the principles of their religion. Theirs is a religion of peace, they will help even their enemies.

Sure, nothing wrong with being rich- as long as you don't falsify accounts and round trip the funds to hide the procedures and process how and where the funds actually go to! -
